Artist's Comments

In my art class we had to build up a portfolio, or a reoccurring theme in out art.  Being the all-knowing philosopher that I am, I chose to do social commentary. Come now my fellow followers of Christ, you know we ask for a lot of stupid things in the name of big J. This was inspired when I went to a private school and we had the chapel meeting. The coach interrupted the sermon in order for us to pray for the wrestling match, so that they would spread the Lord's name. "Kicking Ass for Jesus"? Something tells me that wasn't the message He was trying to convey around the world. And the kid in the picture came out having a pink face...maybe that's a subliminal meaning about our 'piggy' wishes! And maybe not!

Oh, and because scanners aren't artist-friendly, the word "wondering" got a little trim. Done with color pencils.

Though I'm not religious, gotta say that I've always wondered about people who said "I'd like to thank god" for certain things that he, if he truly exists, wouldn't have done, or Jesus wouldn't die for. Football game. Yea. Jesus'd die for football...
